J.D. Spielman - Friday, September 18th, 2015

Sport – Football
High School - Eden Prairie
Class – Senior

The multi-sport senior was the catalyst in Eden Prairie’s 28-20 victory over Maple Grove, scoring three touchdowns in three different ways.

Spielman, the son of Vikings general manager Rick Spielman, scored on a 93-yard punt return, an 85-yard kickoff return and a 25-yard running play. On defense he intercepted a pass in the end zone.

Spielman is averaging nearly 10 yards per rushing attempt for the four-time defending state champion Eagles. He also returns kickoffs and punts and does the punting for Eden Prairie. Last spring he was the second-leading scorer for the Eagles lacrosse team.

Spielman plans to play college football at Nebraska.

Congratulations to J.D. Spielman for being this weeks Old Dutch High School Athlete of the Week!
