McKinley was named the 2017 Minnesota Mr. Basketball after leading the Rebels to the Class 4A state championship game for the second time in three years. He averaged 22.8 points, eight rebounds and 7.4 assists per game for the Rebels, who finished 31-1, losing only to Apple Valley in the championship game.

The 6-foot guard has signed with Dayton, which lost coach Archie Miller when he was hired by Indiana the same day Champlin Park played for the state title. Wright has been offered a roster spot with the Hoosiers but has not made an announcement.

Congratulations to McKinley Wright for being this week’s Old Dutch Quality Athlete of the Week.
