When the Tigers traveled to the Twin Cities for the state tournament, their journey involved more than basketball. They lost in the first round to eventual Class 3A state champion Holy Angels, and the next morning the Tigers were paying a visit to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.

Win or lose, the team had planned to visit the hospital. They brought two dozen autographed basketballs for young patients. There was a personal connection as well: Tigers senior Lexi Saugstad’s sister Morgan, who was a senior on last year’s  team, is a former patient at Children’s Hospital and has been cancer-free for six years.

Congratulations to Marshall girls basketball for being this week’s Old Dutch Quality Team of the Week.
