One of the smallest players in girls high school basketball at 5-foot-2, McKenna made a giant statement by scoring a state-record 63 points in Prior Lake’s 99-95 loss to Park Center on Saturday. The previous record of 58 was set by Kay Konerza of Lester Prairie in 1982. McKenna also reached 2,000 career points in the game.

In addition to the scoring record, she made the second-most free throws in state history with 24 and the third-most free throw attempts with 30. She has signed with Seton Hall.

Congratulations to McKenna Hofschild for being this week’s Old Dutch Quality Athlete of the Week.
