Players Needed: 10-20
Equipment Needed: A ball (preferably a rubber playground ball).
Field of Play: A baseball diamond or field that can easily be turned into a baseball diamond by adding some bases.
How to play:
The most important rule to establish in any kickball game is "NO BOUNCIES". Basically, kickball is played the same way you'd play baseball, except without the gloves, bats or the infield fly rule-because that is just really too confusing to understand anyway.
Like baseball, each team gets three outs per inning, unlike baseball it is almost impossible to strike out. So any two foul balls by one kicker in one at-kick counts as an out. To get base runners out, fielders have some choices. They can either tag the runner, touch the base while holding the ball in a force-out situation or just throw the ball directly at the runner. If it hits the runner, s/he is out. You can also catch pop-flies, fair or foul, to make outs.
To pitch, the pitcher must roll the ball to the kicker without using big bounces (hence the NO BOUNCIES rule). There are no walks, balls, bean-balls or balks. And if you're in need of bases, Old Dutch Boxes will always do in a crunch.
