Ingredients
| 5 Large Green Peppers* |
| 1/4 Cup of Butter, melted |
| 2 1/4 Cups of Old Dutch Original Potato Chips, finely crushed (Approximately 3 oz of Potato Chips = 1 Cup) |
| 2 2/3 Cups of Shredded Cheddar Cheese |
| 1 lb. of Fully Cooked & Peeled Shrimp |
| 1 - 16 oz Can of Tomato Sauce |
| 2 Teaspoons of Worcestershire Sauce |
| 1/4 Teaspoon of Salt |
| 1/4 Teaspoon of Pepper |
| 1 Teaspoon of Oregano |
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Wash the peppers, cut the tops off, and clean out the seeds.
- Place peppers in a large sauce pan of boiling salted water (enough to cover each pepper completely).
- Boil peppers for 5 minutes.
- Drain peppers and let them dry upside down on paper towels.
- Combine butter, Old Dutch Original Potato chips, 2 cups of cheese, and shrimp.
- Place the mixture proportionately into each pepper.
- Place each pepper into a 9 x 13 baking dish.
- In a medium bowl combine tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and oregano.
- Pour half of the sauce into the bottom of the baking dish with the peppers.
- Sprinkle tops of Peppers with remaining shredded cheese.
- Place in oven and bake for 30 min.
- In a medium sauce pan heat remaining sauce and spoon over the baked peppers when you are ready to serve.
Recipe Variations
- *Substitute the Green Peppers for Red Bell or Yellow Peppers.
