Peanut Butter Crunch Bars

1 1/2 Cups of Old Dutch Pretzel Fat Free Thins, coarsly crushed (Approximately 3 oz of Pretzels = 1 Cup)

3 Tablespoons of Sugar
1/2 Cup of Unsalted Butter, melted
14 oz Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
3/4 Cup of Peanut Butter
1/2 Cup of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 Cup of Butterscotch Chips

1 Cup of Old Dutch Traditional Potato Chips, crushed        (Approximately 3 oz of Potato Chips = 1 Cup)

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine pretzel crumbs, sugar, and butter in a small bowl.  Once the mixture is mixed together press into the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking pan.
  • Next in a small bowl combine the sweetened condensed milk and 1/2 cup of the peanut butter and mix well.  Spread evenly the mixture over the top of the crust.
  • Bake for 20 minutres or until the filling has set.  Remove from oven and cool.
  • Melt the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and remaining peanut butter in a double broiler on medium heat. 
  • Once the mixture has melted stir in the potato chips.  Spread mixture evenly over the bars.
  • Cool or chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate topping has set.
  • Cut into bars and serve!
  • If you do not have a double broiler you can improvise by placing an ovenproof glass or metal bowl in a larger saucepan of hot water, in either case do not let the bottom of the bowl touch the hot water.
  • For a quick and easy way to crush your pretzels for the crust use a food processor, if you do not have a food processor place your pretzels into a plastic storage bag and crush with a rolling pin or meat mallet.
