Apple Pecan Crunch

1 Cup of Old Dutch Original Potato Chips, finely crushed
4 Medium Golden Delicious Apples*, sliced
1/2 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
1/3 Cup of Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons of Unsalted Butter, melted
1/3 Cup of Chopped Pecans
4 Tablespoons of Granulated Sugar
4 Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, optional
  • Combine crushed Old Dutch Original Potato Chips, ¼ tsp. cinnamon, brown sugar, melted butter, and pecans in a small bowl.
  • Stir until evenly combined. Set aside.
  • In another small bowl, combine granulated sugar and ¼ tsp. cinnamon. Set side.
  • Lightly grease four (8 oz or larger) custard cups or any microwave safe dish.
  • Place 1 cup of apples into each dish.
  • Sprinkle the top of the apples with approximately 1 Tbsp. of the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
  • Top each dish with ¼  of the crumb mixture. Microwave one dish at a time on high power for about 2-3 minutes, or until the apples are tender.
  • Cool slightly and serve with warm ice cream.
  • *Substitute the Golden Delicious apples with other great cooking apple varieties: Fuji, Braeburn, Granny Smith, McIntosh, Honey Crisp, Cortland.
  • Drizzle Caramel syrup over the ice cream for a tasty addition to the desert.
